WHO WE ARE
The Emerging One Hundred of New York (E100) is the young professionals auxiliary of the One Hundred Black Men of New York (OHBM-NY), the founding chapter of the national 100 Black Men of America (100 BMOA) movement, built over 60 years.
Our members are not waiting to be handed a seat at the table. They are building one, and bringing others with them. E100 NY is not a social club. It is a civic commitment, grounded in four things:
-
Brotherhood. We hold each other accountable and push each other forward.
-
Mentorship. We show up every week for the young people counting on us.
-
Service. We give our time, skill, and presence to this city.
-
Excellence. We hold ourselves to a standard, and mean it
"That is who we are."
Trae Anderson - Inaugural President
WHAT WE DO
We deliver mentorship, professional development, and civic leadership among in New York City.
MENTOR
We show up every week for the young people in our Junior One Hundred program. Our members serve as mentors, tutors, and role models — because they will be what they see.
DEVELOP
We invest in each other. Through programming, professional development, and shared experience, E100 NY builds the skills and networks our members need to lead at the highest levels.
LEAD
We serve the city. Through civic action, community partnerships, and institutional leadership, E100 NY members help shape the future of New York — one scholar, one relationship, one initiative at a time
THE RIGHT MAN KNOWS WHO HE IS.
E100 New York is built for a specific kind of man. Not defined by what he has — but by what he is committed to.
A Black man, ages 22–35+, living or working in New York City
A working professional with ambition and a record of follow-through and results
Someone who believes mentorship is a responsibility, not an option
Committed to showing up — for the organization, for the scholars, and for each other
Ready to be part of something bigger than himself
"If that is you — there is a place for you here."
- Rohan
THE 100 ECOSYSTEM
We are part of something larger than ourselves. The 100 Ecosystem is a full lifecycle of Black male leadership — from the scholars we mentor, to the young professionals we develop, to the senior leaders who guide us all.
01
JUNIOR ONE HUNDRED (JOH)
Young people, ages 13–24, mentored by 100 members in academics, character, and civic life. They are the reason we show up.
02
EMERGING One Hundred
(E100 NY)
Male professionals, ages 22–35+, who serve as mentors while developing their own leadership and civic engagement.
03
ONE HUNDRED BLACK MEN (OHBM NY)
Senior leaders across every sector of New York City — business, law, medicine, government, education, and beyond.
The pipeline runs in both directions. We mentor because we were mentored. We lead because we were developed.
